OUR HISTORY
Some neonatologists from Latin America, interested in neonatal networks, met together. Due to contacts in the Canadian Neonatal Network (CNN) we began collecting data with their program translated into Spanish. For several years we worked on a quality improvement program based on evidence from Canada called EPIQ, with remarkable success. By twists of fate we left the organization where we were and decided to start a new group we called EpicLatino, a none profit neonatal network organization based in Calgary Canada on 2015. We made this website to let us be known, and we created the logo appearing on the home page. Initially 9 NICUs contributed their database of many years, now we have grown to 25. We are in the process of motivating units in Latin America to collect statistics with this network and implementing the EPIQ program mentioned above. We must thank all those who have believed in us. Thanks to a grant from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) for the moment there is no direct cost to belong to this network.
